Decorreu na madrugada deste domingo (19) para segunda-feira (20) no Microsoft Theater, em Los Angeles, mais uma edição dos Primetime Emmy Awards, prémios atribuídos pela Academia de Televisão dos EUA para distinguir o melhor das produções para o pequeno ecrã, uma gala em formato presencial, mas sujeita a várias restrições devida à pandemia, que foi apresentada por Cedric the Entertainer.
Nas principais categorias de drama, “The Crown“, da Netflix “limpou” tudo, incluindo Melhor Série e vitórias em todas as áreas de interpretação masculinas e femininas. “The Mandalorian“, do Disney+, que partiu com 24 nomeações, tantas como “The Crown”, não apareceu na lista dos principais vencedores.
Nas comédias, “Ted Lasso“, da AppleTV+, arrecadou 4 estatuetas, entre as quais Melhor Série, Melhor Ator (Jason Sudeik) e melhores atores secundários (Brett Goldstein e Hannah Waddingham). “Hacks“, da HBO Max conquistou dois prémios, incluindo Melhor Atriz (Jean Smart).
“The Queen’s Gambit“, da Netflix venceu o Emmy de Melhor Minissérie, mas “Mare of Easttown” (HBO) também esteve em destaque ao arrecadar os prémios de Melhor Atriz (Kate Winslet), e os de interpretação secundários (Julianne Nicholson e Evan Peters). Ewan McGregor por “Halston”, da Netflix, venceu o Emmy de Melhor Ator.
